Customer Reviews

Best Dip Belt on Amazon! The leather construction looks and feels far better than the nylon belt I had been using before. Everything is built to last and its clear the manufacturers did not cut any corners. As for specific exercises I use this for...Pullups/Dips: The added nylon fastening strap is a unique feature which gives a ton of added stability and security to the load when pulling. When you tighten that thing up your belt is locked to your hips and won't be going anywhere. Additionally the nylon loading strap is far better than any chains I have used in the past. Its heavy duty and wont ever tear and if there is too much length I can just tie a knot into it and shorten it to the standard size most dip belts cut their loading chains to.Pushups: This is the primary reason I bought a new dip belt. Other belts did not have long enough chains and nylon surface caused it to slide while doing my reps. The padding on this belt is sufficient to be both comfortable while also keeping it secure across my shoulders.Belt squats (squats, standing on two boxes, weight dangling between the legs): This thing is fantastic. I've had issues with the belt sliding or the weight digging into the thighs and sliding up the back while in the hole. Not an issue with this one. 5Don't cheap out on dip belts. This is a steal!I know most shoppers will look a dip belt, not see a chain, and think this will never hold. But this belt is a beast. When mine first came in I looked at the quality, loaded about 150lbs worth of plates on it to test its strength, and thought this belt could easily be worth an extra 15 to twenty dollars. The fact the the belt and chain are two separate pieces means you can load up plates and there is no discomfort for males in the groin area. You can keep it on in between sets, and the chain can easily be replaced since it isn't connected, but I cant see replacement ever being necessary. The plates do hang a little lower so make sure you are elevated high enough especially for dips. If you buy the cheap low dip bars you may not have enough clearance, but if use a commercial height dip station or rack for dips you'll wish you bought one sooner. I may buy an extra one just because people at the gym love to try it out! 5 stars easily 5Way better than expected! This belt ended up being way better than I expected for the price. The leather is high quality, the stitching is solid, and the carabiners are heavy duty. I like that the strap that holds the weight isn't a chain. It doesn't scratch up my weights. It also has some sort of rubbery material in it to keep weights from sliding around on the strap. Genius! And a very nice touch. There is a thick layer of padding covered in soft black suede material on the inside of the belt, which was also a pleasant surprise. What stands out about this belt is that it has an additional strap on it that tightens it around your waist, rather than just using the weight of the plates you attach to it to hold it on your body. This makes the already awkward process of hooking and unhooking the weights a bit easier. For reference, I'm a small female with a 29 inch waist, and this belt fits, but it's *almost* too big. I also am really digging the look of this belt. It's bad a$$. Overall, this belt far exceeded my expectations both in looks and function. All of the little added thoughtful design elements, coupled with solid construction, cause it to rise above your typical dip belts. You won't regret buying it. 5The German maker of weighted beltsThis belt is the equivalent of German car quality in the world of fitness accessories. While belts can be had for cheaper, the quality of this belt is simply unmatched. It's overbuilt in almost every sense. The stitching looks like it can make it through a war, the padding is heavy duty yet very soft, and it looks great! So far I've only tried it with 90lbs, and it felt very secure and comfortable. No pinching or digging into skin anywhere.Furthermore, the folks from Dark Iron back this up with a lifetime warranty. If it ever breaks due to manufacturing defects, they'll replace it free of charge. Do yourself a favor and don't skimp out on a poorly padded and constructed belt when this can be had for 10-20 bucks more. You'll never have to buy another one again. If you're sitting on the fence, just go for it; I haven't looked back. This is probably the single best fitness accessory I've purchased! A must have in my gym bag! 5it is strong and comfortable. The only recommendation I would make is to ...This is a high quality belt, it is strong and comfortable. The only recommendation I would make is to make the strap which goes through the buckle in the front a bit longer. Maybe about 6 inches longer. If you have a 34-36 inch waist, then the length of the strap is fine. But I have a 38-40 inch waist and there was barely enough strap to go through the buckle and get the belt closed properly. Some of us that like to lift do not have a small waist. Beyond that, this is a very nice belt. 4Even though the owner contacted me via email ( nice of him ) and asked for my feedbackEven though the owner contacted me via email ( nice of him ) and asked for my feedback, I waited a bit longer because I really wanted to test it. I did...and I LOVE IT!!!I am a personal fitness trainer and believe me when I tell you that I tested it. First of all, it looks really nice ( esthetics means something, right? ), but besides that it's made of quality material. Very strong, easy to adjust and very comfortable once you put it on. My son was trying to destroy it and at the end it was him who needed help. I've had many similar belts in my past, but this one is the best by far. Awesome product Dark Iron! Keep making quality gadgets like this and I will be your customer for a very long time. 5A Worth While Addition to my Gym BagAn excellent addition from Dark Iron Fitness! I have been enjoying their weight belt for some time, but was excited to get my hands on this new product. The cheap belts at my gym suck and always cut into my hips or the chain is super short and I run the risk of hurting other areas. Dark Iron Fitness's new belt felt great right out of the box! I wasn't sure about the clip in front as I have never had that in a dip belt, but liked how secure it makes it feel. The belt itself is the same great quality that I would expect based on my experience weight belt. High quality materials, well made, the padding on the inside is a nice "comfort" change from other dip belts. The strap for holding the weight is long enough that I am not in fear for my tender areas and is large enough to accommodate a great deal of weight. Great for Weighted Pull ups and dips, bonus it is long enough to use for belt squats as well!5Great quality This is great for that extra push i needed been doing bodybuilding for sometime now and have always wanted a sterdy and sleek dip belt ive used so many in my times but this 1 is top notch i highly recommend to anyone that needs to push their limits. The belt is comfy and doesnt bother your lowerback or sides once you load up the extra weight the rope to attach the weights looks like it can hold a couple hundred pounds havent tested that much weight on it yet just a plate. This belt looks like it will last me some time by looking at the quality 5Almost unnecessarily well-madeI'm a big fan of Dark Iron's products, and I've been really excited about this dip belt's release for a long time. First thoughts on unpacking is that it feels extremely well crafted. I was a bit cautious about it to be honest, since most of the belts I've used int he past have been a bit of chain attached to a bit of leather. While that design does have the charm of a more "classic" weightlifting feel, this is by far the more comfortable and superior product. I felt no pressure points while doing dips and pull-ups with it, and it was quite easy to add weight to the belt without any awkward crouching over. The one issue that I've had with this design is that all the additional features, the cushion on the belt, the extra strap for waist support, the double carabiner attachment, seems to take up quite a lot of space, so it's not something I can just keep in my gym bag all the time. That said, it is an extremely well made product and I really feel like I'm nitpicking to point out flaws with it at all. Very pleased with the product for the price.4Awesome belt!!!!This dip belt is without a doubt the best dip belt I have EVER seen or had the pleasure of using! This belt is oozing in quality. From the first time I opened, and took it out of the box I was very pleased. The belt has a very nice suede like cushion around the inside of the belt that works very effectively at making it very comfortable while using. The way it s designed, the weight is distributed nicely around your waist much better than the old version with a chain down the middle. Because of this, the weight doesn t shift around very much either. It is easily adjusted and tightened around the waist. The gray band on the strap that the weight sits on is a nice rubber feeling, which makes it grip the weight nicely. The clips are a nice touch as well. The clips make weight changing a breeze compared to the down the middle chain version. The belt is made with sturdy component all around, and I don t forsee this breaking down for, maybe ever Well done Dark Iron Fitness! 5Good Investment. This belt has been quite helpful in increasing my strength with a couple body weight exercises like dips and pull ups as well as my overall grip strength. I'm still new-ish so maybe I'm doing it wrong, but it's also the most inconvenient piece of equipment I've used. I mean it's comfortable durable and definitely helps overall but loading and unloading the weight is just awkward mainly just the clips. I mean maybe I'm supposed to sit down between sets and or when adjusting the weight? I just don't so that may be subjective. But still, overall I'm happy with this purchase, like I said, I find it quite comfortable and being a smaller person its nice to be able to add more weight to certain exercises.Pro Tip: If you are using a higher bar do not jump off while using this or a similar product. Step onto a bench or plyo box...or something. I've seen too many videos of people hopping down and the weight bouncing off the floor right back up between their legs. 4Nicest dip belt I've ever usedI've never owned my own dip belt before this one, but I've borrowed a lot of them from various gyms. This belt is by far the nicest one I've ever used. This is probably the heftiest and nicest feeling piece of lifting equipment to come out of dark iron fitness so far, and the rest of their stuff has been great. It's design is far superior to the belts I've used in the past. The strap that secures the belt to your waste is independent of the load-bearing strap, which is sooo much nicer than the stupid belts with the single chain design. No more awkwardly shimmying the belt between your legs to de-load.I can't speak to durability yet, since I've only used it a few times. I anticipate I won't have any problems, but I'll update the review if it fails on me.5My 2nd Dark Iron Fitness product. Quality Gear! This is my second Dark Iron Fitness product. I also own their lifting belt. I've been using that product for about 6 months on a regular basis and it's still in great shape, like new, but broken in a bit. When they came out with this dip belt I knew I wanted it. The ones at my gym are the kind with the chain that you hook back through itself, meaning that it's kind of a pain to drop the weights between sets. Since this dip belt has separate connections for holding it on your waist and for holding the weights, it's much easier to drop the weights between sets. The waist connection is the type that loops back on itself, almost like a double D ring from a motorcycle helmet, but it's squared and has the sliding bar. The strap that goes into this has a rubbery material sewn in on the side that doesn't touch you, making it extremely secure. It doesn't budge. This same rubbery material is on both sides of the strap used to hold the wights, which helps to keep them secure. It is connected via carabiners on either side to D rings on the belt. For me, the strap length is perfect, because I use weights that have holes near the sides for handling. When I hook a 45 lb plate to this, it hangs well clear of my, ahem, sensitive areas, but when I stand up, the plate is clear of the ground. I have a 34 inch inseam. I don't think I could use regular 45 lb plates with this belt because the strap is not long enough to use the center hole of a plate and have it clear my junk.I've used the dip belt twice now, and it appears to be the same quality as the weightlifting belt. It's very comfortable and stays in place well during sets as well as between them. I've used it for pull-ups as well as dips and it's very stable. If you're looking to start getting your own equipment because you work out at home, or because your gym doesn't have belts, or the ones they do have are gross, Dark Iron Fitness stuff is a great choice. The quality is high, and the prices are more than reasonable.Update 4 Dec 2018: I've had this guy for over a year now, and it's still in great shape. Turns out that I can use it with 45lb plates without too much trouble. I've attached 2 of the thick bumpers to it, and with those on there, it hangs just low enough to clear my sensitive bits. I think a third bumper might cause issue, but narrower plates should be fine. 5Strong and sturdy materialsThis is a heavy duty belt. The belt is made from strong leather and the line attached to where the weight hangs also is very strong. The inside of the belt has a soft padding so it eases the weight on the hips when you are trying to lift heavy.I personally like this very much, its very comfortable to wear as well as useful. I use this for dips and pull ups, training myself to be able to lift more than just my body weight. Its excellent if you want to train yourself for muscle ups.Overall the quality of this belt is one of the best that I've seen. Even with a 40 lb plate it doesn't hurt as much with the padding that is in the belt. you can use this with dumbells as well, if you wrap the line around the hand placement of the dumbells so it won't slip, but just be cautious, to be safe, probably use plates.5
