The Victor Tool Company made many machetes and other tools for woodsmen. The US Army selected their Woodmans Pal Knife as a survival tool, issued to ground and air troops. These were carried on the belts of Signal Corp and other troops who had to hack their way thru the jungle in WW2. It was also stowed away in various survival kits issued to the USAAF, (US Army Air Force). I sold the Woodmans Pal back in the 1980s to troops and airmen. I got a bunch of the booklets that they printed during and after WW2......I offer you COPIES of these booklets, made from the original 2 3/4 inch by 4 inch booklets that were carried in the pocket of the knife scabbard. This is Monograph #14 in a series of Monographs, or small booklets written by The Victor Tool Co. This booklet features their Survival Axe 681-N and a kit of saws to cut wood and metal. There is even a scraper to dig in the snow....so this kit can be used in the Jungles or the Arctic. The booklet consists of 22, 2 3/4 inch by 4 inch pages. It contains: The Global Survival Kit SK-NA-2, The Survival Axe Unit SK-681-N2, Keep them sharp, Axe 681-N, Use of tools, Saw Unit SK-SS-3-2N, Survival Saw Grip SS-3, Snow and Log Saw SS-2N, Snow Scraper S-NI, Hacksaw HS-NI, many illustrations.
